| #2 | I think the idea of buttons is wonderful. To go to a competition and not have to think about competiting against other studios, and being able to recognize and meet other awesome dancers, is great. Thanks creator! |

| #3 | I couldn't agree more, Megan!! I had such a blast at P.D.T.A. giving out buttons, and watching the Chris Collins Dancers meet new friends from other studios! This was the most fun I've ever had at a competition. I can't wait to track the buttons, and see where they go from here! Tiffany |

Hi Chris! I read about your studio's 'Button Project' on danceart and want to give you all a huge "You are WONDERFUL!" button!! I can't say enough about how fabulous I think this is. I have never met you and had, in truth, not heard of your studio before this. However, in reading about the branches that are spreading so gloriously from the roots you and your studio have planted... I applaud the kind of person and teacher I now know you must be. And, I'd like to help spread the word. I'd love to offer a link to the Button Project from our studio site http://www.adancersdream.net and ask your permission to reprint the story of the "Button Project" on http://www.tagteach.com.
TAGteach is a method that uses (exclusively) positive reinforcement principles to train dancers, athletes and students in many forms of education. Your 'Button Project' is a phenominal example of positive reinforcement at work. Of course I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding TAGteach, but sincerely, the intent of this note was to gush at you for all of the good work you are doing. Rock on! I have never seen anything like this with students from one dance school giving awards to students from another studio. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! What a wonderful thing you have started here. |

This is such a terrific concept. My daughter was a little shy about walking up to a dancer that she didn't know to give her a compliment in the form of a note and an "Awesome Dancer" button. But she saw a dancer she liked at DMA this past weekend and searched for several hours until she found her. It's a great way for dancers to meet dancers from other studios and let them know what they liked about their performance. As this catches on, who knows when and where my daughter will meet her next "new dance friend". Thanks Dee Buchanan Studio of Dance for getting our dancers involved in such a positive project. |

I am a dance teacher and all I can say is BRAVO to the Dance Button Project. I would like to buy some buttons to give to my own students in class and then encourage them to pass them along. This is so wonderful!!! |

| #9 | I am the parent of a dancer, and my daughter had so much fun giving out her button this weekend in Alabama. We are excited about tracking our button and seeing where it goes next. What an AWESOME idea! I think this is the absolute highest honor a dancer can get from a peer. I hope my daughter receives a button someday. Thank you for starting a positive program! |

Congratulations on such an original idea. I compare the button to my favorite gift, a meaningful hug, or hand written note from the heart. What i didn't count on was how much more my dancers paid attention to the others performances and how much diversity they are gaining. Often at a competition the dancers are so wound up in the costume changes or the politics that they forget too, or totally ignore that others around them are trying so hard to give their best performance, and often miss some of the best education there is to gain. They are now asking me, "Hey, did you see that awesome leap that the girl in the blue dress did". I was shocked that they noticed the blue dress much less the incredible technique. Thank you for helping me slow them down and appreciate the art in front of them, and giving them another reason to be at the competition besides themselves. Please don't get me wrong, my dancers are awesome little people, but now they are learning by example, and growing by generosity, and I for one think that's what it's all about. "YOU ROCK SIR" Respectfully, Timothy A. Miracle Miracle Dance Theatre M.D.T. All stars |

We were at the STAR BOUND competition where they did the buttons this weekend. It was amazing and you don't know what it means to the children until you see it happen. Congratulations Chris Collins! Your dancers are very talented and they are also some of the nicest young people you will ever meet. Your button program is great and your deserve your own award for changing the way we all look at competitions. Thankyou! |

I think the dance button project is a great idea. It's great that kids from different studios can get to no each other better. Instead of competing against each other we can respect other dancers and just say to ourselves that that person is an awesome dancer and being a part of this it makes me realize that I am an awesome dancer. So thank you Dance Button Project. - Simone |

What a wonderful project! My daughter received a button this weekend at the Dupree Dance Expo. She received it shortly after competition, when her spirits were a bit low (she didn't do as well as she wanted) and it brightened her right up and made her weekend! After we read the letter together, she was so excited and can't wait for their next competition so she can find another Awesome Dancer to pass the button on to! |

| #22 | This is an amazing idea. The fact that the students get to give an award to another student is awesome! My daughter (who got a button) really made an effort to notice other dancers before she gave her button away.
When my daughter (8 years old) received her button she really had no clue what it was about so I sat her down when we got home and explained why she got it and why the button was started in the first place. She understands and was impressed that she was awarded it.

| #25 | I wanted to take a moment to tell how it feels to be a mother of an awesome dancer. She is about to give away her button, and I think she is just as excited now as she was when she received it. When I found out she was getting this award I was not surprised. We work very hard to install kindness in our children. She won her award for sharing part of her costume at a competition and helping her competitor fix a last minute hair doo. She then cheered for her while she danced and went on to perform her own solo. I think this project needs to be announced on a bigger scale. Communities, schools and studios need to pay attention to the impact our dancers are having on each other. It is time for someone to notice that our youth are trying to make a positive movement and create a kinder world. Thank you Chris Collins, the Awesome Dancer Button Project is working.
